As the Data sync will replace the PieSync, I would really appreciate if there is an option to add/edit rules as it was with the PieSync. I consider it a major feature that is irreplaceable.

PieSync’s sync rules were introduced back in the day as a ‘workaround’ to allow users to do things that our field mappings couldn’t. It indeed turned out to be a major feature because it allowed a lot of needed customizability, but it introduced a lot of unnecesarry complexity into the UI.
Take for instance the most common use case we had, which used the rules to sync owners between two apps. You had to create one rule for each owner. So if you had 20 owners, you had to create 20 individual rules. If you then wanted to also add some additional filters, you would then need to add these filters to each one of those rules.. so not ideal.
With Data Sync, we want to do things right from the get-go: Allow the same level of customizability but with a UI that’s easy to use and understand. Take the aforementioned use case, which syncs owners, and has at least one additional filter. On Data Sync you’ll be able to do that with just two “clicks”:
- Create a custom field mapping for the owner fields between HubSpot and the other app – currently not possible, still a roadmap item
- Add a filter to the sync rules
