Superusers!

Hi, community -- eager for your thoughts. I’d like to create a list of superusers, aka, people who are either opening or clicking on every email in a certain time frame. Looking to determine the best filters for this and then seeing how big the list is that populates. Thanks!

Hi @CraigByer,

You could look at this property then:

Sends since last engagement: the number of marketing emails that have been sent since the last engagement, specifically email open or link click.

When this is 0, you know the contact has been either opening or clicking your last marketing email to them.

Alternatively, you can also work with these properties:

  • Last marketing email send date: the date of the most recent email delivery for any marketing email.
  • Last marketing email open date: the date of the most recent email open for any marketing email.
  • Last marketing email click date: the date of the most recent link click for any marketing email.
  • Last marketing email reply date: the date of the most recent reply for any marketing email.
  • Marketing emails opened: the number of marketing emails opened. Please note that this value is incremented at most once per email; if the same email is opened multiple times, this value will only increase by one.
  • Marketing emails clicked: the number of marketing emails which have had link clicks. Please note that this value is incremented at most once per email; if the same link is clicked multiple times, or multiple links in the same email are clicked, this value will only increase by one.

It’s unfortunately not possible to specify a date range when using these – so you might have to become a bit creative when using these.

Another approach would be building a custom report based on the data source of marketing email activities and identifying those contacts that have had certain events (opens, clicks) in a date range. You can then export this report and re-import to create a list of contacts. This would allow you to filter by date ranges.

Let me know if you have any follow-up questions!

PS. Keep in mind that open tracking is not super-accurate. Recipients might open your email but this activity might not reach HubSpot, if tracking is blocked.

helpful! if you have any screegrabs of steps for any of the methods, that would be great for us visual learners. Thank you!

@CraigByer the first two methods would simply follow list building standards, as explained here: Create segments

The third method I would consider advanced, it requires some knowledge of the custom report builder: Create reports with the custom report builder

Please have a look at these tutorials and let me know where exactly you’re getting stuck, should that happen :slightly_smiling_face:

Best regards!
