I created a form in HubSpot with a follow up email to automate the process and when I use the follow up email it automatically requires reCAPTCHA. When the reCAPTCHA is enabled, the Submit button is not working. Once I remove the follow up email and reCAPTCHA is no longer included, it works just fine. How do I get this to work? I don’t like having to send out the follow up email manually as that is not an efficient use of my time.
Hello @Brian6, what is the current browser being used while submitting the form? Could you please send me a private message with the form URL so we are able to test and investigate more?
Thank you,
Pam
Did this problem get solved? I am experiencing similar, where I’ve embeded contact form code into my external site and when I enable CAPTCHA the submit button stops working.
Hi @NChandler,
Thanks for reaching out!
Can I have you try following these steps laid out in this article?
Can you reproduce the behavior in a different browser as well?
Thank you!
Kristen
Hi Kristen,
I have followed the steps in the article.
The problem occurs in both Chrome and Edge.
The problem is occurring on pages I have built using GoDaddy’s site builder app. Here are two pages, one without CAPTCHA enabled that works, and one with CAPTCHA enabled that doesn’t work:
The same contact form embedded into my Wordpress site with CAPTCHA enabled works fine.
Thanks very much for anything you can do.
Nick
Hi @NChandler,
Thank you for including the examples!
It looks like this issue could be related to how your form is embedded on your page (iframe). I’ll update this thread as soon as I have further information.
Best,
Kristen
Hi @NChandler,
It looks like the issue is how the form is being embedded on these two pages.
On the https://pqcommunity.com/contact-us/ page, the embed code is simply placed into the page’s markup as expected. On the other page, ‘https://pq-suite.com/concierge’, it appears that the embed code (along with some other code) has been placed within a ‘srcdoc’ attribute of an iframe element.
This means that an iframe element is being generated within the page, which then creates another iframe within that, that actually renders the form.
Can you, on the affected page with the reCAPTCHA enabled, please embed the form in the standard way of simply placing into the page’s markup, instead of within the ‘srcdoc’ attribute of an iframe; similar to how you’ve done on the page ‘https://pq-suite.com/contact’ and then see if you’re able to submit the form?
Thank you,
Kristen
Hi Kristen,
Thanks for looking into this. I’m not pasting anything other than the embed code provided on HubSpot’s Forms / Option > Share / embed code copy/paste option. Unless HubSpot adds the iframe in returning the requested form, it must be GoDaddy’s site builder application that is wrapping the html in iframes and somehow interfering with the HubSpot embedded form when reCAPTCHA is present.
Here’s the code snippets that I’ve embedded into the two forms - it doesn’t change if I enable or disable reCAPTCHA:
HS Contact form embed code (w/ reCAPTCHA disabled)
<script charset=“utf-8” type=“text/javascript” src=“//js.hsforms.net/forms/shell.js”></script>
<script>
hbspt.forms.create({
region: “na1”,
portalId: “21635774”,
formId: “f59121ea-c7e4-4e6b-98bd-0ac6ac681387”
});
</script>
HS Concierge form embed code (w/ reCAPTCHA enabled)
<script charset=“utf-8” type=“text/javascript” src=“//js.hsforms.net/forms/shell.js”></script>
<script>
hbspt.forms.create({
region: “na1”,
portalId: “21635774”,
formId: “b175542f-4b09-49a2-acec-6d65af10cb74”
});
</script>
Hi @NChandler,
Thanks for your patience while I was looking into this!
It looks like reCaptcha will not load inside of an iframe with srcdoc due to the frame having no “origin”. It looks like reCaptcha can not be used when the form is embedded in this way.
I would recommend embedding the form normally using the embed code or inside an iframe with an “src” that is an actual URL.
Best,
Kristen
