SSL activation time?

Hi!

I made a new website and SSL has been activating for two days now. Row says it may take even 4 hours.

Is there anything i can do for this matter? Nothing seems to be happening… Non-secure site works just fine.

Hi @hkar,

Thanks for reaching out to the Community!

Can you please confirm if you went through these directions to connect to a secure site? Are you seeing any error messages on your end?

Thank you,

Kristen

Hi, and thanks for your reply!

I made totally new website to HubSpot, only domain was pointed from my ISP to HubSpot. I asked from them, and they said that it´s re-directed right and no SSL is on their side.
Im not getting any errors, only that info that SSL activation is processing.

I have A-records at my ISP DNS-setting but no CNAME-records. Can that be the issue?

Hi @hkar,

Thanks for the additional details!

The article mentions that you must have your domain CNAME pointed to the secure server set up in the initial process.
Can you confirm if the CNAME is pointing toward a secure server?

Thanks,

Kristen

Hi! No i dont CNAME pointed. Where can i find the CNAME value? I tried to find it everywhere but doesnt seem to find it.

Hi @hkar!

Thanks for your patience while I was looking into this for you.

You can find your CNAME records in your DNS provider.

When you connected your domain to HubSpot, they were provided during the setup as shown in this knowledge base article. You would have copied them over to your DNS (hosting service).

Can you see if the CNAMEs are in your DNS?

Thanks!

Kristen

Hi!
No, they’re aren’t. And I didn’t write them down. Anyway to get them at this point? Or how to resolve this problem?

Hi @hkar,

I’ll chime in here as my colleague is OOO.

If you’re still experiencing issues, you should be able to update the CNAME records in the settings of your DNS provider. After logging in, the navigation instructions and field names may differ across DNS providers, but this Knowledge base article should help you find the DNS record settings (the article includes specific instructions for selected DNS providers).

The information you’ll need from HubSpot to complete this step can be found in your HubSpot account settings:

The CNAME record will look something like this: [your Hub ID].groupX.sites.hubspot.net.

I hope this helps!

Hi! Well my problem is that I don’t have my CNAME-records. I know where to add them. Where can I find my CNAME-records? From HubSpot side.

Hi @hkar,

Apologies for the delayed reply here! I was catching up :slightly_smiling_face:

The CNAME info would be in the Domains and URLs settings of your account. You can see these in your own account if you follow the steps in this knowledge base article to connect a domain.

You will be able to view them in the “Hosting Setup” step. I’ve attached a screenshot below for reference :slightly_smiling_face:

Hope this helps!

Best,

Kristen

i’m also facing same issue. what to do now?

Hi @motherboardinfo,

Have you already checked your settings as described by my colleague here? Thank you!

Hi,

another troubleshooting tip if updating the DNS record in your ISP’s DNS-settings won’t work:

Could you please also check the CAA record or add a CAA record for your root domain, as described here? Thank you!
