Hi all, would love some help understanding some feedback we got from surveys. We surveyed customers using custom properties on the Feedback Surveys section of HubSpot. It has 2 dropdown selections. I am having trouble sorting the data so I can sort by their specific answers and also at the same time see who the contact is owned by. How can this be done? When I search for the custom properties, they don’t come up. I was hoping to build a segment of people who selected “yes” and then have the columns to the right display their second dropdown selection and the contact owner.
Hey @alexagatiss - thanks for posting in the Community!
I’d like to pull in some Community experts to see what insight they may have for how we might be able to achieve this. @karstenkoehler and @danmoyle - any thoughts on how to filter by survey responses?

Hi @alexagatiss,
Sure, in the custom report builder select the survey responses as main data sources and contacts as additional one:
Then select a table visualization, place your properties into the view, and click the arrows to sort.
Best regards
This worked for me! Thank you!
Hi there, how can I revise this report so that for the survey fields, contacts with (no value) for survey questions aren’t shown? I would also like to create a view where I can filter to only see people who answered “yes” to the first question and see the breakdown of the second follow up question by percentage / number
@alexagatiss in the report filters, simply specify a filter for “[survey question] is known” or “is any of Yes”.
Amazing, wow- very simple. Thanks!
+1 for what @karstenkoehler offer here, @alexagatiss. The only thing I’d add is that there’s a potential gap with HubSpot functionality for what you’r elooking for. Survey response properties (including custom dropdowns) do not appear in standard contact property searches, which explains why they aren’t showing up. This requires the cross-object report approach he described. So using a table visualization with sorting arrows will get you far, but I don’t think it explicitly covers filtering upfront (like for “yes” responses) via the Filters tab before visualizing.
So here’s a little extra help to go along with what Karsten gave you. For the segment goal, you can build it directly in Contacts using survey response properties as criteria (first dropdown “is any of Yes”), which auto-includes owner and second dropdown columns. No report needed.
In reports, you add filters like “Custom Property 1 is equal to Yes” on the Filters tab, then drag the second dropdown and “Contact > Contact owner name” to columns for a sortable table; export unsummarized data for further analysis if limits hit (1,000 rows for non-tables). Add to this the step of automating follow-ups with workflows triggered by survey properties (enroll on “Yes” for tasks assigned by owner), and I think you’re looking pretty good to monitor the data you’re looking for. Hope this helps!
