Sharing issue on App object's record

I have tried it in the Contacts(hubspot defined object) and ATS application (app object - marketplace app). As you can see i was able to share the contact to users and teams. When i tried the same for the app object record, the option are disabled(grayed out). is this intentional or bug for the app objects?

The previous issue - sharing based on permission set is fixed/currently works. along with i have tag the @chighsmith for this record sharing issue.

This is a known platform restriction, not a bug.

App Objects (created via marketplace apps) are not supported by HubSpot’s CRM Permissions framework, so granular permissions like “View All Records” permission sets and individual record sharing to users/teams are not available for App Objects. Access to App Object records is controlled at the object-type level via app permissions (scopes), not at the record level.

Hi @chighsmith , Thanks for the clarification. correct me if i have understood anything wrong,

  1. App object is for a specific use case a marketplace app needs in-case the hubspot standard object or additional properties can’t fulfill requirement of the marketplace app.
  2. Even though the doc mentioned App objects provide the same flexibility of custom objects Overview of app objects - HubSpot docs , i can share the individual record of Custom object(created by super-admin in enterprise plan) but not the App object. Because it not supported by HubSpot's CRM Permision framework
  3. Currently as you mentioned, the user can view the record of App object, if he is the owner or super-admin
  4. so granular permissions like “View All Records” permission sets and individual record sharing to users/teams are not available for App Objects I was able to assign permission set(view all [App object]) to user, then a user can view all the records of the App object.

Our requirement is to share the record by sharing(preferred) or via assigning permission set.
