Hi,
I just added a gender field to the customer template. It is a free text field where the user can put values like “male” or “female”, “man” or “woman”. It is fine, but I don´t know if it is possible to display a list of values where the user have to choose the value. This is in order to be consistent with the information stored in that field.
Anybody have deal with a similar request? How did you solve it?
Thank you in advance.
Miguel.
Hi @MiguelAlvarez,
Thank you for reaching out!
It sounds like you would be able to benefit from creating a custom drop down select property. When it comes to a drop down select this allows the customer to select: Female, Male, or Prefer not to say. This would allow the customer to choose one of the options listed.
Below are the instructions on how to create a custom property:
-
In your HubSpot account, click the settings settings icon in the main navigation bar.
-
In the left sidebar menu, navigate to Properties.
-
In the Select an object section, click the dropdown menu and select [object] properties for the object you want to create a property for.
-
In the upper right, click Create property.
-
In the right panel, set up your property:
- Object type: select the object that the property will be for. By default, this is the object type you selected earlier.
- Group: select the property group the property should belong to.
- Label: enter text to name the property. A property’s label must be unique in order to create or edit the property.
- Description: enter text to describe the property.
- By default, the property will be included as an option for fields in your HubSpot forms, pop-up forms, and bots. If you don’t want the property to be an option, clear the Show in forms checkbox.
Please note: product properties cannot be included in your forms, pop-up forms, and bots.
Once this is all set you would be able to add this property to a form and the customer would be able to select a gender and select as opposed to typing it in.
Best,
@JenWeiss
