Set Due Date for Task created via Sequence

Currently, when you create a task from a Sequence, it’s not possible to set the Due Date for that task.

Example: A sequence finishes and you want to give the recipient time to respond to the last email or simply give the contact owner a future task that will pop up when intended. You’d finish the sequence with a task due next week or next month. It doesn’t make sense to give them a task that needs to be addressed immediately.

I emphatically agree. We have a rule that every deal needs a task. Right now when I enroll contacts in a sequence and assign the sequence activity to the deal, I auto-generate a task that tells me the sequence-end task will auto generate in three weeks. However, it needs to sit there for three weeks before the next task occurs – and is overdue the whole time!

We need this too. We also have a rule where every deal needs a task so delaying for 30 days isn’t suitable. We need either the task set for 1 months time or for the sequence to be clearly visible in the deal so that we know the file is being dealt with in some way.

It’s so weird we can’t do that

Agree 100% on this.

It would also be nice if there was also an option for all (or some) tasks in the sequence to be created beforehand so that Reps can use the “Schedule” view to see what’s coming up.

Right now all tasks get created on the same day, so it is hard for them to keep track of what’s coming up for their sequences in their calendar.

+1. Routing this through workflows instead isn’t a real solution. Sequences exist as their own tool for a reason, and rebuilding core sequence functionality in workflows just to compensate is a workaround, not a fix. If sequences are going to be a first-class part of the sales tool set, they should be built out fully rather than half-supported.
