Hello everyone! I waws wondering if I could get some help please. We want to try a sequencing with emails, however I am coming short on how to do it so the emails appear to come from my boss and not me! From what I see it just shows me as the owner, however I need to change ownership without changing profiles if that makes sense. Please can someone point me in the direction of how to do this? Thank you!
Hi @ShaynaB,
Sequences are always sent from the user that enrolls the contacts – you cannot send sequences of behalf of another users.* (That would mean that you have access to their connected inbox which might be fine in your scenario but generally, for other HubSpot customers, would be a privacy nightmare.)
* The only exception to this is enrolling contacts into a sequence through workflows. Enroll and unenroll contacts in sequences using workflows – this requires a Sales or Service Hub Enterprise subscription.
If you do not have that subscription but really need to send emails on behalf of your boss, there are only two options:
- Your boss connects their email address after logging in with your HubSpot credentials.
- You log in with the HubSpot credentials.
Both are not a very good idea and might in fact violate HubSpot’s acceptable use policy, so you might want to double check. (I’m not sure.)
Hope this helps!
Thank you so much! I will give this a try through workflows and go from there, I really appreciate your response!

Hi ShaynaB,
I can help with that! To send emails on behalf of your boss without changing profiles, you can use the “Send As” or “Send On Behalf Of” feature in your email client. Here’s a general approach depending on your email platform:
1. **Gmail**:
- Go to Settings > Accounts and Import.
- Under “Send mail as,” click “Add another email address.”
- Enter your boss’s email address and follow the verification process.
2. **Outlook**:
- Go to File > Account Settings > Delegate Access.
- Add your boss’s email and set the permissions to allow sending emails on their behalf.
3. **Email Marketing Platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, HubSpot)**:
- These platforms usually have options to set a custom “From” name and email address.
- Look for the “From Name” and “From Email” settings in your campaign settings and input your boss’s details.
Make sure you have the necessary permissions from your boss to send emails on their behalf. If you need more specific steps for your email platform, please let me know which one you are using!

@ShaynaB the option to enroll into a sequence from workflows is only available with the Sales or Service enterprise plans.
If you have a Sales or Service Professional plan you can accomplish this using our app, Enrollem.
This adds a custom ‘enroll in sequence’ action to your workflows tool without the need for an enterprise account and comes with a free plan which offers 50 autmated sequence enrollments per month.
