Hello…I took your SEO certification course a couple of months ago and then had to take a break for family illness. I was trying to take the certification exam today but it looks like it doesn’t exist now. Can you please help me with this?
Hi @lauriesu,
Thank you for reaching out for reaching out here. So sorry to hear about your recent situation. Sending you all my best!
Unfortunately, the SEO certifications were retired as of June 23rd. Since the certification wasn’t awarded prior to that change, the course can no longer be completed – we appreciate your understanding, especially given the timing.
The good news: two brand new AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) certifications recently launched, and they cover a lot of the same foundational territory you were working toward. (this covers SEO and AEO) You can find them here!
Hope this helps!

Someone who previously asked this question was given the information below by another representative recently. He mentioned the possibility of taking the exam or at least some documentation of completing the course. Could you please check into this for me? My curriculum does not include AI at all…it is a different study track so the new course would not be a good investment of my time, especially since I’ve already invested about 20-30 hours in the SEO course.
Hey @AsmaaOsama
and welcome back, it’s great to see you again on the HubSpot Community! And thanks for reaching out!
The previous SEO certification was retired on June 23, so if the exam wasn’t fully completed and passed before that date, the old certificate unfortunately can’t be issued.
As you mentioned, the best next step is to take the new updated course to earn your SEO certification: AEO Fundamentals.
I checked internally and I see the SEO course indicated as not completed on our side. If you have a screenshot of the SEO course completed before June 23, please share it so that I can investigate and see what we can do.
Thanks,
Bérangère
Hi @lauriesu,
Thanks so much for your feedback and for sharing that reference thread!
We’ve since been informed that this course has been retired, which means certifications for it can no longer be issued. That said, I’m happy to double-check this with our team and will follow up here as soon as I have a firm update for you.
In the meantime, the new courses I linked above cover both SEO and AEO and are the best up-to-date alternatives.
Talk soon!
