How exactly can you create segments in Hubspot?

Hi @StephanieStacy,

Since marketing email sends in HubSpot are list based, you would create segments by creating lists: Create segments

Specifically, you would:

  1. Create an active contact-based list
  2. Click ‘Add filter’
  3. [most of the times] Click ‘Contact properties’

Under contact properties, you’ll find properties like industry, persona, lifecycle stage etc. Typically this is where most of the information you have input lives.

By specifying values (e.g. industry is equal to any of construction AND lifecycle stage is none of customer or empty), you can create segments.
