Our team is wondering if there is a way to customize what is searchable in the search bar at the company level. We have “DBA” as a custom property. Our client’s legal entity name is the “Company Name.” Is it possible to search by a custom property? Thanks for any and all feedback!

I believe this is possible, but only at the Enterprise subscription level. That product allows for up to 3 single-line text, multi-line text, or number properties to be search filters within the HubSpot global search bar.
If you head into the property settings, you should see a “Show in search results” checkbox (you can have up to three of these):
Once you select it, you should see at as a filter option within the HubSpot global search. I tried running a test in my demo portal and didn’t see the “Testing” property show up yet, but that’s where it will appear:
It should show up as one of the bottom options.
If you don’t have Enterprise, there’s not much you can do beyond adding a filter to the company page that says “DBA” contains any of “[value].” That should help you filter down records a bit at least!
You can also create a saved view where “DBA” is “Known.” That will narrow down your company records to only the ones with a set “DBA” value, which you could add as a column. You could then sort the records A-Z or Z-A to hopefully help you find records a bit quicker.

An altertative solution might work for you, this tool has search bar that can search any properties under an object, such as company, contact, deal (even by associated companies/contacts).
