Running and creating a forecasting report.

Wasn’t sure how to subject this enquiry and not sure where to start. Ultimately I want to be able to run report on a defined period of time to predict the resources we will need based on the variety of inclusions our clients have in each package so I can predict staffing needs according to client needs. I need to be able to add some fields within a deal stage that can be updating during in the life of each deal stage within a pipeline as each time an inclusion is used it reduces the overall deliverables company-wide. Being able to run over a defined period may help us see how long each inclusions is taking to be delievered.
Eternally grateful for assistance to implement this functionality.

Hi @K_8,

It sounds like you’re looking for ERP (enterprise resource planning) functionalities here – and while you can probably make this work on a very basic, limited level in HubSpot, eventually that’s not what HubSpot was built for. HubSpot is a CRM (customer relationship management) system.

On a very basic level, you could increase or decrease a number property of the deal or the associated company if another property based on other fields (e.g. custom owner fields) being known or unknown. This would allow for some level of resource tracking. Adding a time perspective to this and tracking this over time could be achieved with timestamps. These timestamps into custom date properties could be made once the number property hits a certain threshold or it could be set manually. Two timestamps would allow you to calculate the duration between which could be used in reporting.

In general, I’d recommend looking into third party solutions that integrate well with HubSpot (see the app marketplace).

Hope this helps!
