Restrict users from adding deal splits

Hello - We were planning on turning on Deal splits for the company but only wanted certain members of SalesOps and RevOps to have the ability to view/add/edit those deal splits.

For example, we have the Company owner property on the Company object set to allow everyone to view but only editable by selected users on the SalesOps team. Even though our Account owners and leaders have view/edit permission to the Company records, they cannot edit the Company owner field.

When I tried to do similar for the Deal Split Added property, it did not work.

* Made “Deal Split Added” limited to Super Admins only

* Logged in as a user with “Sales Rep” permissions that allow for view/edit of owned deals only

* Was able to add deal split

We will not be able to use this function if we cannot limit the users

We are having the same request from a customer. This is a crucial feature.

We also need to be able to restrict who can add or edit deal splits to a deal.
