Posting on behalf of a customer: I’d like for the ability to create required properties for products/line items when adding them to deal.
Hi Team - also posting this on behalf of a customer.
Since we allow for the creation of custom product properties, it would be great if we could edit the required fields for a product creation, similar to this functionality (Customize the create form for each object).
This came up today - we have margin reports and not everyone in the team is 100% at adding in fields that aren’t required. This would help keep data accurate if nothing else.
Would love to have the ability to do this the same as with other objects

Essential for line item consistency + reporting. Would love to see this feature added.
Cor, yes please! Our sales team mostly add custom line items to deals (we don’t have a product catalogue, same as a lot of resellers and solution providers) -having a basic set of required properties would avoid our most common mistakes, and also help us get some sensible reporting, preferably where the “no value” bar isn’t the biggest one.
Not sure why we cant set product properties as mandatory when you create new products ?

I’m Jeannie, the new PM for Products & Line Items. Thanks for taking the time to share this feedback and explaining your use case. In the spirit of transparency, this is not currently on our roadmap, as our team is focused on other areas right now.
That said, I’m tracking this feedback and will revisit as priorities evolve. Please keep upvoting and sharing details in the comments. It’s been really helpful to inform the requirements for other features in the past.
