Request for App Verification Without Marketplace Listing

Hey Folks,

Need a quick help!

I have created a web app that connects to HubSpot via OAuth with read-only permissions. I want to submit my app for HubSpot’s verification process to remove the “unverified app” warning during user connections. However, I do not wish to list my app publicly in the HubSpot App Marketplace as it uses HubSpot as an external connector via MCP and marketplace listing won’t serve any purpose. I have checked the Developer Portal and do not see an option to submit my app for verification without marketplace listing. Could you please guide me on how to proceed with app verification under these conditions?

Thank you for your assistance.

Didn’t get any help yet on this. Please help.

Hey @FaizSiddiqui,
Thanks for following up here!
In looking further into your request, I came across this Community post, which seems to address a similar inquiry. Based on the accepted solution, as well as our documentation on listing your app, it doesn’t appear that you’ll be able to verify your app without listing it.
I hope this helps provide some clarity!

I understand but this is web app which uses hubspot as a connector to read data and display on the ROAI dashboard. It doesn’t require any installation. Now, to get it verified it would require 60 installations in 6 months once listed. Listing is of no use to us, this is being marketed differently. Hope my situation is being understood well. I don’t want user to see ‘Unverified App’ warning.

Hey @FaizSiddiqui,
fully understandable that you want to avoid the “Unverified App” warning. Based on the docs AI helper response, I believe there’s no way around a full marketplace listing if you want to use OAuth.

The docs AI wrote:

Based on the documentation, there is no separate “app verification” process independent of marketplace listing. However, you can remove the “unverified app” warning by adding a verified domain to your app — this does not require a marketplace listing.

Here’s how it works with domain verification:

  1. In your developer account, navigate to Development > Domain (or for legacy apps: Apps > your app > Contact & support).
  2. Enter your company domain and click Save, then Verify it now.
  3. Copy the provided TXT record value and add it to your domain’s DNS settings.
  4. Complete the verification in HubSpot (may take up to 48 hours for DNS propagation).

Important: With a verified domain but no marketplace listing, users will still see a banner saying the app “has not been reviewed or approved by HubSpot,” but the stronger “unverified app” warning will be removed. Only apps that pass HubSpot’s full marketplace review process display no warning at all — there’s no way to achieve that without listing.

Hope this helps

I have a verified domain but no marketplace listing yet, still I see the stronger “unverified app” warning not “has not been reviewed or approved by HubSpot,”
