Welcome to the Community @DCrinnionDC! I think @RomyFuchs1 brought some great insight. I’ll add my experience as well just so you have additional ideas. In my experience, I think you’ll get the most flexibility by combining a monthly goal line in the report with a separate daily/weekly target, rather than relying only on the “Goals” tool.
HubSpot’s built‑in Goals are primarily monthly/quarterly/annual and don’t natively “break down” into weekly or daily views in reverse (you can see a weekly goal as monthly, but not a monthly goal as weekly). You can add a monthly goal/reference line to a custom calls report via Chart Settings, as long as it’s a date‑based line/area/bar chart.
Here’s what I’d try. First, create a calls report with a monthly goal line. You can build a custom single‑object Activity/Call report grouped by date (like “Calls made date”). In Chart Settings, add a monthly goal line at 720 calls (or per‑rep equivalent) so the team can see progress vs target for “This month.” Put this on your main sales dashboard filtered “This month” to keep the 720 target front and center.
Then I’d use the same report for daily and weekly* views by changing the date grouping to “by day” or “by week” and keep the monthly goal line on it. Reps and managers can then see:
- Daily: calls today vs trajectory toward 720
- Weekly: calls this week vs what they should have by this point in the month
This avoids the limitation that a monthly goal cannot be automatically viewed as a proper weekly goal, but still gives you daily/weekly cut‑throughs on the same metric.
And finally, when you want rep‑level quota tracking (attainment %, notifications), set user‑specific sales goals under Reporting → Goals for “Number of calls.” Those goals can surface in some sales analytics templates, but they’ll still be monthly; the visual daily/weekly views will come from the custom calls report itself.
*When it comes to weekly numbers, you may have to get creative. That behavior you asked about in your reply seems to be normal for HubSpot’s goal line, not a bug on your side. HubSpot’s “Monthly Goal” setting is designed to work on monthly (or longer) frequencies, and does not reliably support a “this week” view on the same goal line.
The goal line you add in Chart Settings is treated as a monthly goal, so when you change the report date range to “This week,” the system no longer has a matching monthly goal period and effectively shows no goal (visually looking like 0). HubSpot also explicitly notes that a monthly goal cannot be viewed as a weekly goal, only the other way around (a weekly goal can roll up into a monthly report, but not vice versa).
I searched for a practical workaround and here’s what came up (using Perplexity, for reference).
Keep your main 720‑per‑month visual on a report filtered to “This month” or “This year” with the monthly goal line. For weekly and daily monitoring, use either:
- A separate weekly calls report without the goal line and calculate the weekly target (e.g., 720 ÷ 4 = 180 calls/week) in the dashboard description/title, or
- *Create a weekly calls goal in the Goals tool (e.g., 180 calls per week per rep) and use that goal in a weekly report instead of reusing the monthly 720 goal.*
So what you’re seeing on “This week” is a common limitation of HubSpot’s goal visualization, not something broken in your portal. I hope this helps!
