Hi, I am looking to create a custom report. I would like the output of the report to be a list of contacts with the number of associated deals, notes. The contacts needs to be filtered by company, but when the filter in the custom report builder is different to the single object report and it just does not correctly filter by company (even after copy and pasting in the company from a contact).
Hey @JPlante, thanks for sharing! It sounds like you’re trying to report on multiple objects at once (contacts, companies, deals, and activities). It’s not always possible to get exactly what you’re after within a single report that spans across multiple objects, but you may be able to create two or three reports that are separate but give you the data you’re after. I’m not sure how your HubSpot account is set up or how you’ll be using this report, but I have some quick thoughts below.
In terms of contacts being filtered by company, the closest you’ll be able to get there is sorting the contacts within your table in order of “Company name” or “Associated company.” That will sort the table alphabetically and allow you to view contacts in order of their company name. However, that will not aggregate the results by company, so you’d need to add a “Company name” or “Associated company” filter on the roprt and add companies individually. Be sure that all of your contact records are associated with the respective company record. You may also need to set up a workflow to copy the “Name” company property to the “Company name” contact property.
From there, I know you can report on the number of associated deals, but I don’t believe there is a property for the number of notes logged on a contact record. However, you can create an activity report and set “Activity Type” to “Note.” Within that report, you can bring in the associated contacts and companies (but not deals).
I’m not sure how helpful this is — are you able to share a screenshot of the report you’ve built so far? Thanks!
thanks
