Report Export Approval

Hello HubSpot Community,
I wonder if you could help point me in the right direction. We have enrolled in the HubSpot Beta for HubSpot Export Approvals Beta but, this does not quite match our expectations for what it would do.

Our use case, is that we do not want anyone to be able to export Reports or Dashboards in HubSpot without approval from a Super Admin, or even better a single designated person (CISO).

It appears that this Beta only focusses on Records, Segments & Property History.

It does not make much sense to me, that they would ignore exporting reports from this BETA.
When chatting with HubSpot Support, they were not the most useful:

Jack, I was going through articles and haven’t found anything straight on this! I came across Require approvals for exports (BETA), Share or export reports and dashboards but none of them point us or highlight anything on permissions.

After looking into our docs, I think in terms of reports and dashboards, specifically, we can’t filter down to approvals for export.

Do any of you HubSpot Experts know how I can ensure when a Report is exported that prior to the export happening it requires approval?

Hi @JBell342,

I’d recommend providing this feedback directly in the product updates section:

My experience is that product managers get back directly quite often and are appreciative about feedback.

Best regards

… speaking of product managers following up, hello JBell342. My name is Fae and I’m the product manager about to take on Approvals.

You’re right, reports and dashboards are not currently included in the scope of export approvals. I’d love to dig more into your requirements here as we’re currently working on the roadmap for improving both the scope of features included and improving the configuration of the approvals process itself.
If you’re interested in speaking with me, you can book a call to speak with me at a time that suits you here: https://meetings.hubspot.com/fgilfillan
I look forward to chatting, have a great day.

Thanks! I have set a meeting for Monday.

Brilliant, speak then!
