Very often your processes in sales, marketing, and support require you to do the same thing at certain fixed frequencies. Examples are checking up a customer’s state, ask if the customer still wants to subscribe to your newsletter, compliance requirement etc.
This a very simple recurring workflow that retriggers itself after it has executed.
This extremenly useful feature is not available in HubSpot marketing automation. There is no simple way just to say "keep on doing this until …'.
There are multiple complex workarounds suggested by HubSpot and other users. The simple solution to let a workflow trigger it self is not possible in HubSpot. This is a major gap in how our business work and how it is supported by the application - especially when we can see this is a standard feature in similar offerings.
Requirements
- you can design a workflow, which triggers itself as the last step
- the workflow must have at least one branch
- retrigger workflow
- exit workflow
- the workflow automatically allows to retrigger workflow on a contact, deal, …
- there must be at least one delay in the workflow. The delay can be explicitly or through an action with delay (e.g. action ‘Delay until event happens’).
Example
The contact must confirm that they still want to have the freemium account on uQualio.
We wait up to 7 days for the to click on a link in the email.
When confirmed we want to trigger the workflow again and wait another 3 months before we check again.
The last action is where we want to trigger the workflow again without havint to make a task or another complex workaround.
