Recurring Task - Repeat Status

Hello, we have several recurring tasks that display “Stopped by User Request” in the “Repeat Status” column. We are not aware of anything we are doing to turn these off, does anyone know why this may be happening and how to fix? Thanks in advance.

Hey @MSunderhuse, thanks for reaching out! This is a great question.

I wasn’t able to find any HubSpot documentation on the “Repeat Status” property values. I just ran a quick test, and it looks like unchecking the “Set to repeat” box when editing the task will produce the “Stopped by User Request” value. The same thing happens if the task is edited from the task page or within the associated record.

Is it possible that users are editing the tasks after they’ve been created and adjusting any of the repeat settings? It looks like a user would need to make manual edits, though it’s not clear if any other actions could impact this. You should head to the associated record and check out the task history. That may shed some light on where updates are coming from:

@kvlschaefer do you know of any documentation on “Repeat Status” values for tasks? It doesn’t look like they’re addressed in the Create tasks Knowledge Base article.

Sorry I can’t be of more help!

Hi everyone,

Thanks for tagging me in, @jolle!

@MSunderhuse - I wanted to share this knowledge base documentation on Setting Tasks to Repeat.

It states that “to stop new recurring tasks from being created, edit an individual task in the series and clear the Set to repeat checkbox.”

It sounds like a user in your account may have taken these steps which in turn updated the Repeat Status property.

I would recommend taking a look at the task activity history as @jolle suggested to get more details on the task update history.

Hope this helps!

Best,

Kristen
