Re-enrollment doesn't work

Hi there,

Even though I’ve turned on the re-enrollment trigger in my workflow and it ran several times successfully, it now doesn’t work. I don’t know why, can you check it for me?

Hi @HDang9,

Unless you’re changing the email address back and forth (is this what you’re doing?) there isn’t any change for HubSpot to register. No change, no reenrollment.

Could you elaborate when exactly you want the record to reenroll?

Hi @karstenkoehler ,

Do you see there were 3 enrollment history logs before? That means the re-enrollment trigger has worked. I do not change anything apart from the action setting (that doesn’t affect re-enrollment rules)

Hi @HDang9,

These enrollments were likely due to disabling / enabling the workflow, according to the log.

When exactly do you want the contact to re-enroll? What should trigger re-enrollment? The email address having a value is not a specific re-enrollment trigger. HubSpot doesn’t warn you about this but it would only cause re-enrollment when you change the email address to something else and back.

Hi @karstenkoehler ,

Yes, I’ve turned on/ off the workflow to re-enroll the contact. However, why did this affect the way the contact re-enrolled when it has worked successfully several times before? I didn’t change the email address but it was supposed to be re-enrolled in the workflow because it met the trigger right?

Hi @HDang9,

During disabling / enabling the workflow, you can choose whether you would like to enroll records that already meet the trigger criteria. That’s probably what you chose and that’s why the record was enrolled again and again.

In any case, you need to change the enrollment trigger.

On its own, ‘Email is equal to any of…’ will not trigger re-enrollment unless you change the email to another value and then back. As I understand from you, that’s not what you’re planning to do.

Unfortunately you haven’t answered my previous questions: When exactly do you want the contact to re-enroll? What should trigger re-enrollment?

Once you answer these, I can share how exactly you should set up the enrollment criteria.

Hi @karstenkoehler ,

This workflow I used to test the action on my account before bringing it to end users, then I want to run it again & again to send custom action for me only to check if it worked correctly or not.

Hi @HDang9,

Are you all set then, do you have any open questions? Was I able to clarify what’s going on?
