Public app custom object and webhook creation

We need to create a public app that after installaton will create a custom object and on that custom object will create a webhook that will send create/update/delete events to our backend from HubSpot.

Seems like this currently is not possible (from all the posts and the documentation and api testing), but I’m getting mixed information, for example that this is possible but only for high paying tier customers or that v4 webhook api has some kind of support for this.

Can I get some clarification, and if it’s not possible will it be in the future if you have any dates or a roadmap ?

Thank you

Hi @Zdravko_Susljek
Thank you for reaching out to the Community!
I’d like to invite some community members who are subject matter experts to join this conversation.
@Anton @sylvain_tirreau @GiantFocal - Would you be able to share any insights on this? Your expertise would be greatly appreciated.
I recommend that you also share your thoughts on the HubSpot Developer Feedback form.
Best,
Victor

We’ve filled out both forms and sent them to HubSpot regarding getting permission for creating custom objects with Public apps, I just need conformation that we will be able to create webhooks on them once we get permission, as this is not explicity said anywhere and currently you can only get webhooks on hubspots defualt objects.

Thanks for the update, @Zdravko_Susljek . You’re taking the right steps by going through HubSpot’s official channels for custom object permissions.

This is definitely a specialized use case, so hopefully some of our community experts who’ve worked with public apps and webhooks can share their experiences or insights while you’re waiting to hear back from support. Best, Victor

Hi,

It is not possible to create webhooks on custom objects.

This idea has been officially suggested since 2023:

Perhaps you should look into creating a workflow that will query your URLs…

Thank you for the replay and your time.

I’ve got a follow up quesiton. If our custom objects gets approved by the HubSpot team with the form we submitted, and that objects is then tehnically an “App object” and not a “Custom object”, will we then be able to create webhooks for it using the following api endpoint ? App objects reference - HubSpot docs

Thank you again Sylvain.
