Problem using Email Signature

Hi guys!

i’ve just created a new email signature using the free tool on Hubspot. Once created, the signature preview on Hubspot looks just fine (see below)

I then click on the “Copy Signature” button to copy this signature and paste it into a newly created signature in Outlook. All fine until here…

But once i save this signature and try inserting it into a new mail, i notice a pipe symbol (|) added at every icon.

I’ve tried different browsers to create the email signature but faced the same problem with all of them.

I also tried using the “Copy signature source code” option. The newly created HTML file, when opened again seems just fine. But again, when i try inserting the signature in a new mail, i face the same problem as above.

Could someone help me with this?

Thanks!

@RD5

Don’t know why this works, Outlook is weird, but in the signature editor if you:

  1. Select the affected icon
  2. Copy the icon
  3. Delete the icon
  4. Reposition your cusor into the space you removed the icon from
  5. Paste the icon

This removes the vertical line.

It might have something to do with the background-color style Hubspot adds to the image, but I can’t say for sure.

Hi Alyssa!

thanks for your reply!

I tried your suggestion step-by-step but unfortunately this didn’t solve the problem. :disappointed_face:

@RD5

Repositioning the cursor can be tricky. The font needs to read Calibiri 11 where you put it; not Arial, not Calibri 10, Calibri 11. If that still doesn’t work, then sorry, don’t know what else to tell you as that’s the only thing that worked for me.

Wow Alyssa!How did you ever figure that out!

Your suggestion worked just fine!

Problem solved!

Thanks a ton! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi,

Im also using outlook, and this is the issue I’m seeing. When I send to gmail, the underlines under the icons dont show up on the received email, but still stays underlined in outlook.

It seems many people are having this issue but I haven’t found a solution that worked yet. Would appreciate the help.
