Prefilling Forms via web page builder

Status: Idea Submitted

Similar to the option to style forms on the web page builder, we’d like to have an option to set prefilled values for the forms here, including hidden elements. And just to be clear, these actions will only be isolated whenever the forms are used on the specific page only and not acroll all use instances of the same form (other pages and the stand alone form page).

By doing so, this can greatly reduce the need to clone forms just for the prefilled values.

Just to give you an example - an application form - for each job post landing page, we embed the application form however, we’d like to have the job role element prefilled based on what job post page they are currently on. The only option we have now is to create variants of the same form simply to prefill the job role element when this “prefill” action can simply be done on the page level.

Why aren’t we using the existing options like URL injects and scripts? For short, maintenance.

HS allows you to link page via selection among all your existing pages, this option allows the system to associate a page on the link instead of simply capturing its url, so whenever you are updating the page - any updates will roll over, even the URL, to the links set up using this method.

Scripts on the other hand is a good option, unless there are multiple developers working on your pages and not all are applying the same standard or have the skill to handle it. Scripts are also faulty and unreliable - updates mostly breaks it and we cannot waste time keeping an eye on it.

This is why we are asking for this solution as this is the most efficient way we think to implement this.
