Page Breaks for PDFs

Hello,

May I strongly suggest to adjust the page break lineup for when one converts a proposal or quote into a PDF. I have proposals that go out for million dollars, and then we show up for presentation and with a printed document in hand to present, and the page breaks looks like something a 5th grader has done - it makes us look incompetent. (and yes, I have Sales Professional for our company)

thank you!

Hi @JJarell

This should be possible by tweaking your template.

Have you tried adding page-break HTML or CSS settings in your Custom Quote template?

best,

Pete.

I will try and see if I can do this, not sure how though. By just regular editing or programming codes? because if it´s with the programming and stuff, I´m at a loss - don´t know how to. I will go in and look at it. Thanks for the idea.

Yes it’s best done by somebody familiar with working on HubSpot CMS Templates.

Custom Quotes uses modules, but it doesn’t have the drag-and-drop editor so is more hands-on editing.

But if you clone your existing template into a child theme, what’s the worst that can happen, and it’s some funky learning! Have fun!

Hi @HubDoPete , could you share how this is done? I am struggling with the same issue.

I managed to fix this so I can summarize the way I did that.

- First, choose one of the basic templates that come out of the box in hubspot. Open the CMS template through settings and navigate to the entire CMS-quotes-theme folder (write in the search bar) and clone it.
- Navigate to the cloned theme folder. Go to Templates subfolder and open the html tempalte of the quote version you want to change.

- In the initial <style> section , add in a separate row the following:

.pagebreak { page-break-before: always; }

- Now check the code further and find the section before which you want to add a page break. For example, I want to add a page break before the Line items table so I will add the following:

<div class=“pagebreak”>

right before the:

<div class=“container line-items”>

*You can add the same <div class=“pagebreak”> before any page break you want to have.

- Now the most important part.

- create a new quote and select the new Theme you created in the beginning. You can then go to your new quote and modify it with the native quote editor functionality (no code). But you will have your page breaks.

Hope this helps someone :slightly_smiling_face:
