Would be nice to have a disable for the “Create new” tab on custom objects sidebar per area or even by the team.

This is absolutely essential @hubspot! We use Custom Objects to record immutable data about Real Estate properties & we create these via an integrated App that we have built. We do NOT want our users to be able to create this kind of Custom Object themselves.
Interestingly the Custom Object name property/field, which is part of the Object schema is set to permission ‘view only’ & yet users can still create from Desktop & type in this property/field?

Agreed. We similarly use a custom object to represent instances/accounts of our SaaS product, and these objects are programmatically created/updated via a custom reverse ETL pipeline we’ve created in Segment and connected to your HubSpot (Actions) destination integration with them. If our users attempt to create one of these objects via the UI, and enter an incorrect UID or somethings -- it could create a real mess.
