NodeJS in Design Manager

Hi there,

I want to create some website pages, which require some backend code using NodeJS libraries. Is there any place where I can use NodeJS code? I tried the HubSpot Developer and its CLI to start a website using their boilerplate. But I couldn’t find any package.json file where I can add my libraries as dependencies for later usage in the templates/layouts/modules.

Kindly help me in the right direction.

NodeJS would require running on a NodeJS server, and HubSpot’s CMS is not currently setup to run a NodeJS server like that.

You do have the option to run serverless functions however, and those do run on Node. In this way you could build out your website and leverage serveless functions in HubSpot for some backend functionality. There are some limits to be aware of, and I don’t think serverless functions are designed to function as like a full custom API running on HubSpot. But you can support some API like functionality for your website using serverless functions.
You do need CMS Enterprise to take advantage of this feature.

Thank you LeeBartelme, your guidelines really helped me find the right path to achieve what I was looking for.
