New User Question

Hi, been trying to understand all the tools, very intuitive, but also lots to learn.

What would I need to set up for the following scenario?

Small business has 3 separate products:
1) Franchises 2) Selling Equipment 3) Staff Training Services

I manage the website for the client, and he wants to integrate HubSpot so he can manage the enquiries for the above, through their sales process.

Just struggling as a beginner, to know what parts of HubSpot I need to set up?, any parts need connecting etc.? …and knowing I’m not going down the wrong path!

Any advice, thanks in anticipation

Hey @cmasonuk, thanks for reaching out! HubSpot has a ton of awesome resources and documentation around getting started with the tool:

There’s definitely some overlap between those articles, but they cover or will direct you to step-by-step instructions for technical HubSpot setup.

Based on the info you provided, a good first step would be to:

  1. Add the HubSpot tracking code to your website
  2. Create forms in HubSpot and add them to the website
  3. Set up the needed contact tracking and create/edit properties to match the data you’re capturing

Hope this helps get you started!!

Hi thanks a lot. Can I please just ask:

  1. Add the HubSpot tracking code to your website
    - Is the only use of this for getting analytics into the dashboard?
  2. Create forms in HubSpot and add them to the website
    - Are these a required / essential part of setting up a sales pipeline?
  3. Set up the needed contact tracking and create/edit properties to match the data you’re capturing
    - Is this a standard and essential part of the pipeline setup?

Thanks - sorry there is so much info out there, and the system can have so many parts. It’s difficult to know and have faith I’m taking the best route for the business in question.
Are there any tutorials for actual real life examples, or business types - it’d just be excellent to know I’m following the ‘right’ set of instructions, and know the correct tools have been chosen for what I’m trying to do… apologies but it’s all new - trying to learn quick : )

Thanks again, Chris

Hi @cmasonuk ,

In 2025 the best path is less about “which features do I turn on” and more about structuring things around each of your three revenue streams. Franchises, equipment sales, and training are effectively three pipelines, and HubSpot lets you model that cleanly.

You’ll want one deals pipeline for each product line, with its own stages that mirror how your client actually sells. That way reports stay relevant and the team isn’t stuck forcing three different businesses into one generic pipeline

Forms are indeed essential if you want enquiries to land directly into HubSpot. They’re not just for lead capture; you can route each form to the right pipeline automatically by using hidden fields or form-to-deal workflows (Create forms (legacy) )

That’s what ensures a staff training enquiry doesn’t get mixed into equipment sales. And yes, adding the tracking code is more than “just analytics” it also lets HubSpot cookies tie website sessions to contacts, which becomes key later for nurturing and ads retargeting.

The piece many beginners miss is custom properties. Out of the box you get basics like email and phone, but for franchises you might need “Region” or “License Start Date,” and for equipment maybe “Units Interested.”

Those properties fuel both filtering and automation. Once properties and pipelines are in place, workflows become your safety net automatically assigning, notifying, and moving deals along without manual effort.

If consistency between these three product lines and HubSpot is the main challenge, Stacksync can mirror all those custom fields and records with your source systems in real time so you don’t end up reconciling messy data later.
