New Form Styling

The new forms tool has some great upgrades but when it comes to styling it is now really limited. I would like a way to have more control, ideally being able to add a link to a stylesheet (I hate that these are now in iframes and you have no control over the CSS). At the very least, it is really painful that you can’t remove the padding on the forms.

I agree, the new features on forms are great. Unfortunately for us, the iframe is very limiting as we are not able to customize the style via CSS.

I’m moving at great speed. Have to get program up and running in 24 hours. I open up the ne wform creator, and it has all sorts of styling in it. Picture spot, background colors, etc. I just want a blank form with fields. I didn’t pick a layout, and I don’t see a place to do that necessary. But I just expected to have a blank form to build. Now I have to deconstruct what you started with, to build what used to be easy in the legacy form tool.

I’d like to add to this: why can’t we use basic HTML tags like we could in the old form? I can’t have links to privacy policies for certain properties.

The other big issue? You can’t style the PROPERTY NAME differently from the FIELD OPTIONS.

So it looks like a muddled mess. Why Can’t we style the property name (heading) with a different size and/or color natively without relying on stupid external CSS?

Additionally, why can’t we CENTER the submit button on a single page form? It’s always right justified?

I genuinely feel like they rushed this out the door without asking feedback from real power users who live in this platform day in and day out. Wish they had asked me.

Need the ability to change the html code when used on an external website. Thanks

This is a HUGE problem for as we are using our forms in multiple places and we cannot meet Accessibility color contrast standards if the form styling is limited to 1 set of options. This limitation is opening up your clients to ADA lawsuits! It is completely unacceptable to expect your customers to build a new form that is a duplicate of an existing form just to have different form stylings.

And the fact that in order to use a form with a dark custom background on an external site, I have to turn my form labels white but that means I can’t read my form in Hubspot. I have to select all of the text on the page to figure out which form field I need to click on to make edits. THIS IS RIDICULOUS!

This is really needed. When you work on marketing, it’s necessary to be able to do subtle changes to the design of the form to be able to increase the conversion rate. We are currently paying 2 other tools to do this, because Hubspot can’t.

For the step by step forms, it’s really painful not to be able to:

  • change the position or color of the “previous” button
  • trigger an auto submit of the step when there is only a single select question
  • change the position of the progress bar

Thank you
