The idea is that Multiline Text such as E-Mails or Properties with Multiline Strings have a setting behind them.
This setting would make them always show all of their content, without having to press “View More”, showing “View Less” the moment you open them instead.
This setting is meant to address an issue I ran into while handling Deals, Businesses & Activities.
Example: We have a field meant to hold information about a business for special conditions and other things which aren’t “the norm”.
If a worker opens it up, he should always see this information - It’s important enough to warrant a lot of space. As is because of lengthier text, some conditions are only visible after pressing “View More”.
The same thing applies if working up a Deals History - E-Mails do not show more than 3 Lines of Text.
My proposed solution to this:
- Add a setting to “Multi-line text” properties to make them expand by default.
- Add a setting (either in the Layout Editor / Under Object > Activity or on User-Level) to expand text on default.
(The Layout Editor is probably the most sensible, since the Layout Designer can make decisions and, through alternating team layouts, can optimize who needs how much information visible.)
