MRR for a deal

I noticed that there’s a default property in HubSpot for deals called MRR (Monthly Recurring Revenue). However, in our case, this field is appearing empty and doesn’t allow manual editing. Could someone please clarify how the MRR value is calculated and under what scenarios it gets populated automatically for a deal?

Thanks in advance!

Hi @yK10,

That will automatically populate when you add a line item that has a monthly billing frequency.

If you want to track a manual MRR property you would need to create a custom one.

Thanks for the reply @Josh .
I have one more conern does it require exterprise or professional or will work for starter too ?

Hi @yK10,

Here’s the knowledge base article about line items: Use line items

You can use line items with recurring billing on Starter. It will also calculate your MRR. The article explains how those values are calculated.

Does the MRR automatically update if the recurring line item or its billing frequency is changed later, or is it only calculated when the line item is first added?

Hi @trymoodie and all :waving_hand:

Welcome to the HubSpot Community, we’re excited to have you here!

Great question, thanks for asking! MRR is automatically recalculated when the recurring line item’s amount, quantity, or billing frequency changes. It isn’t calculated only when the line item is first added. MRR is derived from the current recurring line-item values and billing frequency.

I’d recommend checking these resources that can help:

Also, I’d love to hear from our Top Experts: Hi @Josh and @danmoyle do you have additional information to share with @trymoodie, please?

Enjoy the day and thanks so much!
