Moving from one workflow to another without a trigger

Hiya
Here’s my question:
I have a drip campaign workflow for onboarding SQLs.
When they finish this drip campaign, if they haven’t onboarded, I’d like to move them to a new workflow for “lost SQLs”

Those “lost SQLs” isn’t a lifecycle stage.

All I want to do is that the end of the Onboarding SQL workflow moves the contact to the Lost SQL workflow
I’ve created both workflows. The Lost SQL workflow has no trigger at the top of the workflow, I left it blank specifically as I want it to be automatically added from the end of the Onboarding SQL workflow.
But when I try to find the Lost SQL workflow in the Onboarding SQL workflow, I can’t find it, why?

Hi @RubKos,

Two potential reasons:

  • The second workflow isn’t turned on.
  • The second workflow is based on another object than the first (e.g. contact vs company)

Can you check?

Such quick reply, thanks

It’s turned ON
But you’re right that BEFORE I removed the trigger, the trigger was based on deal vs contact (which it should be).
So what do you recommend I do? There’s no trigger so didn’t think it would matter that it was on deal. How can I switch to being contact-based WITHOUT a trigger?

Hi @RubKos,

All workflows can work without a trigger – being without a trigger is not exclusive to contact-based workflows:

In other words, you need to re-create your second workflow to match the object of the first workflow. (Workflow type cannot be changed after creation.)

OK you’re saying there’s no way to return to this screen once a workflow is done basically. EUKH, need to re-create it all :disappointed_face:

Thanks a lot for your help, and this explains too why I wasn’t able to find it on my own!

Hi @RubKos,

Even if you were able to return to this screens, the actions wouldn’t carry over, unfortunately.

So yes, but typically recreating a workflow is fairly fast if you have the blueprint already. Unless you created a workflow with >100 actions.
