Hi team,

I created my sandbox today and I was surprised that not everything has been copied. It would have been great to know beorehand that only the structure will be copied and that the following points need to done again (manually):

- changes in general settings

record customizations UI:

- views

- dashboard & reports

- required properties (mandatory)

- Sync properties

- Conditional property logic

- Required properties per deal/ticket stage

- reactivation of workflows is needed as well

May that is something that can be changed to have a working copy on SB for testing, especially when other tool integrations have been done.

Also would like to know if this is possible. I am currently going through some testing and set up for Record Customization on deals and tickets and would like to have this on sandbox for when I am creating training videos so I do not have to worry about creating data on Production

Yeah +100 for including Record Customization in the assets that are deployed. I love that the new Sandbox can deploy from Sandbox to Production, but rebuilding Record Customization on Production every time is a huge timesink. We’re doing Record Customization on Sandbox for UAT purposes (we don’t want to deploy to Production unless the business gives the A-OK), and have a lot of it going on between custom cards, conditional logic, and unique team views.

Rebuilding everything on Production is a *huge* waste of time and prone to human error.

Hi :waving_hand: , I’m Juan , Group PM for HubSpot’s Sandboxes tool.

Thank you all for taking the time to submit, vote and comment on this idea. I’m pleased to share that it has been Delivered to all customers using Standard Sandboxes. When you create a new Standard Sandbox, your record customizations, including team-based views, will be copied from your production account, so you no longer need to rebuild them by hand to test.

A few things to know:

  • The copy happens when you create the sandbox. Customizations you change in production afterward don’t carry over automatically.
  • This covers production to sandbox. Deploying new or changed record customizations from a sandbox back to production isn’t currently supported, so those changes still need to be made in production.

If something doesn’t come over as expected, please reply here with the object and the view that’s missing. That helps us track it down.
