I am trying to make a form smaller and have it posted over the header image on a website page. I’ve tried adjusting all of the spacing/padding/margin/line heights settings, etc., but the form seems to be enormous, no matter what adjustments I make.
I realize that I have a long checklist on the form; I would do a dropdown to save space, but we need the option for users to mark all that apply and to also fill in with their own answer if they mark “Other.”
Are there any space-saving options that I’m overlooking?
Here’s a link to the page I’m editing on the Staging site: http://www-enrollmentbuilders-com.sandbox.hs-sites.com/outsourced-admissions-services-admissions-staffing-solution?hs_preview=dLCpUqtJ-82160417171
This is an example of a page (on Wordpress) of what we want to do with our header and form: https://online.mobap.edu/
Thanks for any and all help and insight!
Hi @MaryBernard happy to try to help, your staging site links are private unless the person has access to your HubSpot account. Could you share a screenshot of what you have so far?
Hi, @Jnix284 ! Thank you for replying.
I have 2 screen shots here:
This one is at 67% so you can see the image in its entirety. It’s huge! I had to zoom in that much in order to get a screenshot that would capture the whole image.
Given the amount of choices for the last question, it would be hard to adjust the formatting anymore to make it fit within the box of the fold.
One thing you could consider is doing a two step form - submit the form with the first four fields, and then on the thank you page, you can design the page around the final question, what is your greatest enrollment challenge.
You already mentioned that you need them to be able to select more than one or add an other, in which case I think the question is misphrased, if you want the “greatest” challenge then you want to know their number 1 challenge and you could use a dropdown instead of the checkbox.
Even if you do manage to adjust the formatting enough to keep it above the fold, you’ll likely end up impacting the experience on tablet and mobile in a negative way, so make sure you’re checking your changes across all devices to make sure it works.
