My mind is completely blown that HubSpot lets us define custom analytics views but that those views according to the documentation:
Please note: a custom analytics view will only track data starting the day it's created, and will not include historical data before that. If you update an existing view, the existing data will not be updated to match your changes.
This one product decision single handedly makes custom analytics views completely worthless. Has anybody ever once in the history of the web said “Hey I know how I’m going to want to slice my reporting up today for the next X years?” - (sarcasm intended) the answer is no, marketers need to create reports & views for historical data when they need to answer questions, nobody knows what they want to report on when they first start.
Please allow custom views to leverage historical data.
The data is already there. You’ve stored it and custom views are just ways of slicing & dicing the data. I get that you’d like us to use custom reports for lots of stuff but cutom reports do not allow us to show traffic reports.
