Looking for a theme with a submenu option

Hi all! I’m looking to create a page for an upcoming project that includes chapters/visualizations, and buttons to download PDFs, etc. There are a lot of themes to look through so I wanted to see if this braintrust could point me in some good directions for themes/templates.

Here’s a page I love-- I really like how it has a “In This Article” navigation inside the page content itself on the left side that you can click and jump to a section of the report: https://www.americanprogress.org/article/a-2024-review-of-child-care-and-early-learning-in-the-united-states/

Is there a theme that would allow me to format a page like this?

Hey @JSantisi,

the technical term for “In this article” is called Table-of-Content (short: toc).

While there might be some themes out there which got this out-of-the-box, my recommendation would be to not look for this specifically, as you might miss great themes.

Something I’d recommend is to look in the Marketplace if there’s a module for this or look for a developer (if you shouldn’t have one) who can create this specifically for you.

Furthermore: Depending on your budget and desired result, it might be worth a thought to hire a developer and create a custom theme for your project as you might face some limitations in Marketplace themes.

Thank you! I’m looking for a DIY solution at the moment. We will be going through a full redesign in 2026 but this is a short-term bandaid until we’re able to contract with a developer for a custom design.

thanks for the info. In this case I’d recommend to just create a custom module in the existing theme/setup and once you’re about to tackle the redesign, put this on the to-do/migration list.
