Lead Scoring Based on Specific Email Link Clicks

I’m setting up a custom lead scoring model and would like to award points when a contact clicks a specific link in a marketing email — for example, if they click on a case study link (URL contains “case-study”), they should receive +5 points.

Could you please confirm whether HubSpot’s lead scoring tool allows this type of URL-specific email click condition?

I’m aiming for a scoring setup that distinguishes between general email engagement and specific, high-intent clicks (like case study or brochure links).

Thanks so much for your help and any guidance you can provide on how to set this up effectively!

Hey @SPerkins98 - thanks for posting in the Community!
I’d like to tag in a few Lead Scoring experts to see if they have any insight on whether or not this setup is possible! @RomyFuchs1, @ChrisoKlepke, and @CateDuarte - any thoughts here?

Hi @STierney,
In principle, you can select clicks in a specific email as a score. You can restrict the click to a specific URL or email name. However, I would recommend against doing this, as these clicks are not always 100% accurate. Certain regulations, such as those imposed by Apple, prevent all data from being forwarded. I would therefore recommend tracking the forwarding to the target and restricting it to the source “email marketing.”

Hi @SPerkins98! My name is Melody, and I’m the Product Manager for Lead Scoring. Thanks for your feedback on this! Both Lead Scoring and Health Scoring now can do conditional scoring with “and”, which supports defining a specific link click with a specific marketing email.
Here’s the Lead Scoring product notification to join the Public Beta for both apps and a quick video demo for more information. Note that the current functionality is creating conditional logic across properties (within fit) and within a specific event (within engagement). Thanks for your patience and let me know if you have any questions or additional feedback!
