For a few years now I have seen global issues with valid yahoo email addresses bouncing. I continually approach this topic with support, but they say they are tied to HS rules and regs for unbouncing contacts. Currently, we can unbounce a contact 1x. If the contact bounces a 2nd time, there isn’t anything personally we can do. We need to prove to HS support that the email address is valid ala a screenshot of a personal email communication. This is a tedious process that gets pushed to the bottom of the list of things to do. But so important to be able to communicate with our customers.
According to HS support, Yahoo often has “outtages” where no email gets through and thus valid emails are bouncing. I’m not sure of what is meant by outtages but there must be something that HS can do other than make us go through the laborious process stated above. Bad for us trying to run an efficient company, but also bad for the customers that are not receiving information that they have opted in for.
Perhaps you allow your customers to unbounce yahoo contacts 2x instead of 1x? Allowing for the yahoo abnormality?
I have also seen this issue with comcast.net and aol.com emails. But seems to be the most prevalent with yahoo. Has anyone else also seen this issue? Totally open to ideas and suggestions as well as ways that we can still maintain our valuable sender reputations but while allowing for weirdo stuff like this…
