Issue completing CMS for Marketers certification

Hi!
I have a HubSpot Education Partnership account. My students are working to complete the Portfolio Webpage project provided by the EPP. I have assigned them the CMS for Marketers Certification, but they cannot access the tools to complete the experiential assignments.

I’ve gone into the settings for their accounts -- they’re users -- but I can’t figure out what I can do to give them access.

They are working to complete the HubSpot CMS for Marketers Certification in HubSpot Academy.

As part of that Certification, they have to complete the exercises listed in the first screenshot. However, when they attempt to complete them, they receive the error in the second screenshot.

So it appears that they don’t have the ability to create webpages, even through the Certification itself. But, they have also been added to my HubSpot account, so they should have the ability to make webpages.

Any guidance on what I can do to give them access to the tools they need is greatly appreciated. At this point, I’m thinking of switching to Wix for the webpage assignment.

Hi, @ABennett8 ,

I hear you on this one. Before we became partners, I had the same challenge with the certifications. Not ideal, for sure. Access to the SEO section will depend on your subscription level. If it doesn’t have Marketing Pro, there’s no way to access that, unfortunately. If you have that, it will be a permissions thing.

Also, am I understanding correctly that you’re also a partner? As if so, you should have been allocated a demo account with all Enterprise Hubs. This would mean that you need to add the students to that account, so they can access the module.

And if I’ve misunderstood it, hey, if it’s for education as a one of thing, I’m happy to give your students access to our demo account to complete the certification, if that helps. :slightly_smiling_face:

Best regards,

Eli

Thanks so much!
I am an Education Partner, and I do think I have (or had?) the Enterprise
Hubs access that you mention, because this is my second semester assigning
the project, and I did not have this issue last semester. I don’t know if I
needed to re-up my subscription to the EPP for this academic year.
I’m frustrated because I very much like HubSpot and the services it
provides and I like the experience the EPP provides students (my students
call me a HubSpot fan girl; I had them completing HS Academy certifications
before I joined the EPP). However, I’m also aware that the EPP is likely a
long-term marketing strategy for HubSpot (my students graduate with HubSpot
experience, they join or form businesses that need CMS, they recommend
HubSpot). So, when it’s difficult to give them access to the tools they
need, it’s frustrating.
Thank you for your fast response.

I completely understand and share your frustration on that.

As mentioned, the only things I can offer are:

- access to our portal

- follow up with Hubspot’s team to review your account and ensure you still have access to the demo account

- chat to talk Hubspot in general anyway - from one fan girl to another :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Thanks,

Eli

Haha. Thanks!
I apologize. I misread what you had said to think you were at HubSpot.
I appreciate your offer to share your portal. I have a few more days before they need to get started, so I’ll continue trying to get in touch with HubSpot.
Thank you again!

Anytime! :slightly_smiling_face: I’m here if you need me!

Thanks for posting here @ABennett8!
I’m sorry you’re having issues here. I’ve given your portal a free trial of CMS Enterprise for the rest of the month, so you should be all set to get your students set up. From here, I also have reached out internally to see what next steps are since you’ve run into this issue before. I will reach out shortly.

Take care,

@NicoleJ you’re a legend! :)))

See, @ABennett8 good things happen to good people!

Thanks so much! I also emailed educationpartners@hubspot.com about the issue, so I’m hoping that they can help me find a permanent solution. I am an Education Partner, and this is the first semester where I’ve encountered the issue, so I’m hoping it’s a simple user error.

Thanks so much again.
