Integrations: how do you know what is doing each one?

Hi guys,

I’ve been wondering about this for a while. What do you do when you land in a project that has several apps integrated with Hubspot BUT there is no documentation on what each one is doing or the past work that the company did with them?

Of course I would work with the team with my best Sherlock attitude but I was wondering, what would you do?

My first steps were checking if there were contacts created with the source = integrations, and when where they were created. And of course, checked the most obvious integrations out there like social media apps, etc. But you can do sooooo much more with integrations these days that I was interested in what do you do in this case.

Have a great day!

Hi @MFernandez_VM,

Great question. Here are a few things I do:

  1. First, I log a ticket with support to get an overview when integrations where installed, by whom, and when they were last used. This helps with finding out who’s responsible and what the initial reasoning behind the integration was.
  2. Under Settings > Integrations > Connected apps, I review all integration settings. If there are Private apps, I also try to find out who’s in charge of those.
  3. If Operations Hub Professional is available, check the Data Sync report under Menu > Reports > Data Management > Data Quality.

Best regards!
