HubSpot tracking parameters

I just created a new email and about to send it out , but im getting the following error. My email contains links to my website

Warnings

  1. Some of your links contain HubSpot tracking parameters. These parameters will be overwritten. You should check your email source tracking settings.

What can I do to get past this?

Hello @ndaniyel,

Another user has had what seems like the same problem here: https://community.hubspot.com/t5/Email-Marketing-Tool/Won-t-let-me-send-a-clone-email-to-the-same-list/m-p/340479/highlight/true#M4249

Can you follow the steps outlined by @sttang and let us know if that solves your problem?

Thank you Karsten,

I actually went through that article before writting on here, the article refers to somethig no longer exists . so either i dont have access or hubspot changed the layout. there is no “source tracking” under Email

Hi @ndaniyel,

In my HubSpot portal, I can find these options in the “Tracking” tab of the email settings. If you can’t see these, your user permissions are probably limited. In that case, I would reach out to your super admin and ask whether they could review your permissions.

Hi Karsten,

Im the owner and there is no one apart from me that has access to hubspot account

Hi @ndaniyel,

I just noticed that these settings are only available to Marketing Hub Professional or Enterprise users, see here. If you are using Professional or Enterprise, you should reach out to HubSpot support.

If you aren’t and you don’t want to upgrade, your only option is to remove any custom tracking in your email links. Specifically, if you have a link somewhere in your email that like this:

… you need to remove everything after “.com”. For all links in your email. HubSpot will then apply it’s own tracking parameters to these links. This happens automatically when the email is sent. If you don’t have any custom tracking in any of your links, again, this would be a case for HubSpot support.

Hope this helps!

Hi @karstenkoehler

Many thanks for your support, now it makes sense that i dont see it. yes im on the free version

regarding this … you need to remove everything after “.com”. For all links in your email.

i actually dont have any of that. its just my links to my own website

Thanks

Hi Karsten

Thanks for the info - I’ve just come across this too. What happens if you haven’t removed the text as you suggest (because you didn’t know before you sent it)? Does it affect deliverability scores? Will know to remove in future!

Thanks!
