How to associate the custom entity automatically

Greetings, is there any way to automatically associate a custom entity with one of the standard entities? Let me describe what I mean.

I already have a contact (A) associated with a company (B). Also, we are getting data to the custom entity (C) from our service via API, and it is automatically associated with contact (A) via email. So, we already have an association between A and B and A and C. Is there any way how I can associate C with B automatically (workflow or in another way)? In the association settings I’ve already specified them and can add them manually, but I would like them to associate automatically. It seems that maybe there is option to do this with Operation Hub, but I’m not sure.

Included: Marketing Hub Enterprise, Sales Hub Professional

Hi @oleus! From what I’ve seen, the logic to jump between those associations may be out of reach for HubSpot out of the box, but something people have done before is custom coded workflow actions through Operations Hub (more info can be found here Workflows | Custom Code Actions - HubSpot docs)

I have acutally worked with a client that had a similar request and we achieved what they needed by using ‘Associ8’.
That being said, the same thing would be possible by writing a custom code action in a workflow with operations hub professional
So what you need to do is really weigh up the cost-benefit of subscribing to Associ8 vs. getting ops hub professional.
Either way what you are looking to do is 100% possible! :slightly_smiling_face:

@oleus if you don’t have Ops Hub Pro and/or a developer to create custom coded actions, I highly recommend Associ8.

It’s a no code solution that’ll make what you want to achieve easy to do.

Hey @oleus,
Associ8 can help with this (I’m super late I know)! It’s claim to fame is automatically creating associations based on matching properties between the two objects:

For your use case, you would need a property on Record B and C that share the same value (the names of the properties don’t matter). You could then use those properties in Associ8 to associate them!
