I’m a new HubSpot user, and I can’t figure out how to pause our email sequences so that they don’t go out on holidays or vacations. Can someone please guide me as to where to find this setting? I’ve searched and searched and can’t figure it out.

Depending on how you look at it this is both possible and not possible. There aren’t any settings to centrally store holidays but you have full control over when emails are sent when scheduling emails. In other words, when scheduling sequences, you need to make sure you’re not scheduling them during holidays. Steps in the sequence let you define when exactly they should be executed.

Thanks for your speedy response, Karsten. While I appreciate your feedback and suggestions, I see not having an option to “pause all sequences” or the ability to enter days of the year that they are not to send as a big flaw/blindspot in Hubspot. For those of us who send out hundreds of emails a month, changing the date on each email in the sequence is an added step and a waste of time.
Not having a way for users to pause all outgoing emails with one ‘flip of the switch’ makes companies/teams/individuals who want to build relationships and make genuine connections seem less than genuine. {Not to mention things like: what if I end up having a health emergency and am out of commission for a few weeks?}
I’d like a real solution, Hubspot… you’re supposed to be helping me make real connections with future customers.

I agree with users in this string. It is unreasonable for me to have to “pause” all of my sequences for an observed holiday then go in to resume them the following day. Is a configurable holiday calendar on the roadmap for future?

For example:

  • Are you looking to pause all your sequences for specific holidays/dates?
  • Do you need to temporarily stop sequences while you’re on vacation?
  • Are you trying to prevent sequences from sending on weekends or certain days?
  • Or is there something else specific about sequence timing that you’re trying to control?

The more details you provide, the better I can help you find a workaround or solution that actually works for your situation.

In the meantime, I’ll also check with our Product Team to see if there have been any updates on holiday/vacation settings since this thread started.

Nearly a year later and still nothing. The concept of “don’t send busienss emails on memorial day or the 4th of july” doesn’t seem to exist within Hubspot.

While I realize this isn’t an immediate fix, I’d still suggest contributing to this idea, pointed out by @karstenkoehler. It’s the best way to continue to present this need to our Product team directly!
