High CPU in Chrome

Chrome Extension for Hubspot Sales is increasing the CPU usage of Chrome too high.

Anybody found a way to fix it?

--SOLVED! Hubspot Tech team released an emergency fix - 2.9.0.14344 - 16.7 MB that seems to have fixed this issue. Thank you Tech Team! This discussion can be closed!!

Uninstalled ALL extensions. Put only this extension and CPU is going crazy with even Fan on at full speed.

I’m having the exact same issue.

@CaptainRice @ADavidow Having the same issue as well; spoke to someone on the support team and they mentioned that product is liasing with the Google team - frustrating for sure as I need to now send out emails from within HubSpot directly

Im recently having the same problem, just happened randomly (since december 1st of 2023). i still have not found a fix and neither has hubspot support.
What seems to be happening in my case is that when i open my gmail and hubspot for example (2 tabs only) and my hubspotsales extension is active, my task manager shows that google chrome seems to be replicating an error (or Ram memory leak), so the ram usage keeps going up (the chrome tab keeps using ram of the 16gb that i have until laptop crashes, while my cpu is going crazy at like 45% - 65%) as soon as i disable the hubspotsales extension then everything goes back to normal, and is quick and snappy again. (it was quick and snappy before even with the extension on)
Now im not sure what the issue is, when i sent hubspot support my debug logs on the hubspot sales extention it was obvious in the logs that there was a problem as there were like 1200 issues and errors and “failed to load resource the server responded with a status of 400” or 404. And that Error kept replicating.
Any one with a fix yet?

Same here; the issue only relates to the latest chrome Version 119.0.6045.200 we tested on Version 119.0.6045.160 and its fine…

Let’s see how quickly Google/HS fixed that issue

And updates on this from Hubspot. Same issue for my team at leadbird

Same

@sharonlicari it sounds like this may be related to a new update

Thanks for the tag @TomM2 !

Hey @CaptainRice @CRohling @TReid2 @TWindows8 could you please uninstall the extension and install it again?

Thanks

Sharon

Done multiple times no impact

Thank you @CaptainRice @TReid2

We’ve identified the issue in the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension that caused high CPU usage for some users. The fixed version of the extension, 2.9.014344, has been published and is available for update as of December 5, 5:55AM EST. Please update to the latest version of the extension to see the resolution of this issue.

Update Available in Chrome Web Store Here

Thank you

That was the first thing I did. I also replied saying that I did it and this was the only extension. From another of the replies, it seems like a incompatibility between Latest version of Chrome and the extension. Yet to be confirmed by HS Tech support team.

Hi Sharon,

I installed the new extension but I’m still experiencing high CPU usage. Did I miss a step somewhere that I should try to get this to work?

The updated version 2.9.014344 released on Dec 5 does NOT solve the issue. Occurs on Chrome for Windows and Mac. I’m toggling the extension on and off when I need to access Hubspot email tracking functions with great annoyance.

12/7 update: Problem persists on Windows, extension version 2.9.0.14348.
