Hi everyone, we recently implemented Hubspot for Marketing and are very happy with it. I am the admin and have set up the integration with Dynamics 365. The sync I have set up is one way D365 → Hubspot and selecting Contacts who are current customers.
The problem is that it is syncing contacts with a status of Inactive. I would like to be able to add that filter to the sync but don’t see how I can have more than 1 filter on the sync.
Help! And Thanks!
Yes! I hear you. Data sync should get some more complex filtering capabilities. And we have that roadmapped.
For now, though, the only workaround I can think of is the following:create a simple (new) property in Dynamics, like a checkbox, which is called “Include in HubSpot sync?”, and use that as a filter in data sync.
It would be through logic inside of Dynamics that you’d have that checkbox checked according to contacts being 1) customers 2) active…
While I admit it’s not as easy, I feel it’s better to keep the sync’s filters as straightforward as possible, so you only have that checkbox to worry about in Dynamics, rather than a potentially complex set of Dynamics filters which you exclusively manage inside of HubSpot’s sync setup - if that makes sense.
I have the same requirement wrt Outlook Contacts sync.
How can we filter/exclude specific contacts from the sync process?
Most of our users have a mix of contacts in their Outlook contacts;
personal family & friends contacts,
and even contacts for different businesses,
in addition to the business contacts that we need to sync with Hubspot.
I’ve not been able to find a method of specifying the necessary filter/exclusions.
Thanks for this solution which is what I already figured would be the answer. Very disappointing that HubSpot not offer better filtering for syncing.
