Grouping Lead Forms for Scoring

Hi Community! I’m trying to create a simple lead scoring model that assigned +5 points if they’ve filled out a content form and +20 points if they’ve filled out a demo form.

Right now it looks like you have to assign a point value for each form submissions manually. Even if I try to build a list that captures everyone who submits the content forms I still have to add each form one at a time which is difficult to manage.

I was hoping for a way to name them a specific way so that a list could be built off of it. For example, if form submission is from form name that contains ‘Content’ add to list.

Any ideas on a workaround that doesn’t require me to manually keep adding forms?

@CBuechler4 Super easy fix for this - instead of adding the actual form submissions you could use the contact property ‘Recent Conversion’ contains any of ‘Content’ which would pull all forms that have the word Content in the title. You could od the same thing for the Demo form as well.

@crispyGTM Exactly the workflow I could not figure out. You just saved me hours. Thanks!!

@CBuechler4 Glad to help! Happy HubSpotting!

Hi @CBuechler4,

Do you want to award +5 points every time someone submits a content / demo form or only once? In other words, should 5 submitted content forms get you 5 points or 25?

If it’s only once, using Recent conversion is a great option. If you want to awared +5 points for each form you would still have to add each form manually, or create a property that counts how many forms have been submitted of that type.

Best regards!

Oh interesting. I would like it to add points every time someone submits a
form. Does a scoring rule re-run when a field changes?
For example, if they filled out a demo form, the recent conversion field
value would be 'Demo Form Fill" and then if they downloaded content a
couple days later, the recent conversion field value would update to
‘Content Form Fill.’
Does the scoring rule only run once or would it run again when it is
updated?

Hi @CBuechler4,

That’s correct. Let’s say you’re filtering for Recent conversion contains any of Demo to award 5 points, and the contact submits a demo form. The contact would get 5 points. If they now submit a content form, ‘Recent conversion contains any of Demo’ is not true anymore. The 5 points would be removed.

To solve for this, you either have to list all of the forms manually. If you have a large number of forms and can’t avoid / consolidate those, there are workarounds using number properties which are increased by workflows with each form submission. However even then, you’d have to use various filters in lead scores.

If you want to add points for separate form submissions, you have to separately list them out in the score, unfortunately.

Best regards!

Ah. That clears up how the score model works. Unfortunate that it works that way. How would the the number properties fields work. Would you have the workflow increase the number in a field called ‘Content’ forms submitted’ and then a scoring property that provides points based on that field range, so 1 - 3 form submisisons is +5, 4-6 form submisisonsis +10, 6+ form submissions is +15?

Or do you have a different process?

Hi @CBuechler4,

Correct, there would be a hidden field in forms, labeling a submission as belong to a certain category (e.g. content, demo, premium, webinar).

In a contact-based workflow, you would then re-enroll contacts when they submit any form and then branches by this new custom hidden property. Each branch would then increase the number property by 1.

And then this:

Exactly :slightly_smiling_face:
