Google calendar connection problem

I contunually get a “something went wrong” error when trying to hook up my Google Calendar

Hi @mattscar,

Can you send along additional context around when you’re recieving this error, and screenshots, as well as the information listed in this article.

Thank you,

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

Hmmm…odd. It worked today. I think we can close this for now. TY!

@mattscar what are the actual email addresses, not the aliases, that you are using to connect?

Your calendar must be hosted by either Google or Office 365 in order to be connected to HubSpot.

Thank you,

Jenny

Hello,

I actually have the same issue. I always get the same error message when I try to connect my google calendar to hubspot (meetings):

Sorry. There was an issue connecting to your account.
Please try again or contact support.

A collegue with exactly the same settings has done it and everything worked smoothly.

any idea ?

PS. when I go to google’s setting and check “Apps with access to your account” I do actually find hubspot with all the right privileges.

many thanks

JB

Hey @JulienB,

Does this error message persist across multiple browsers, after clearing your cache and through an incognito window?

Right now I am not seeing your calendar as being connected (for the email address you used to register for the community), so starting fresh is the best next step.

Additionally if you can please provide the email address associated with your calendar if the issue persists to ensure that I am looking at the right resources, that would be great.

Thanks,

Jenny

Hi Jenny,

I just tried with another browser and with the inconito mode, still same results. however i still get an email from google calendar telling me that hubspot is connected. I am using my work adress which is the same on all my hubspot accounts, I can send it to you privately if needed.

many thanks for your help,

A

Hey @JulienB,

Can you try removing HubSpot from your Google integrations and then reconnecting from scratch?

If the issue persists after this, can you collect a har file while you are trying to connect your inbox?

Thank you,
Jenny

Hi I’m having the same issue. When I try to pair my Hubspot account with my Google calendar, I get the following error message: “Sorry. There was an issue connecting to your account. Please try again or contact support.” Every time, I get an email from Google notifying me “HubSpot now has access to your Google Account.” When I go into my Google account, I also see Hubspot is connected to my Google account. Meanwhile, my Hubspot account continues to show the same “Sorry. There was an issue connecting to your account. Please try again or contact support.” error message. I have tried going into Google and disconnecting it from Hubspot, logging out of Hubspot and Google, opening an incognito browser, logging into Hubspot, and trying to set up Meetings again (repeatedly) - but no matter what I try, I get the same Hubspot error message followed by a confirmation email from Google saying it’s now connected - without Hubspot actually connecting. What’s my next step?

Hi @lstanik and @JulienB,

If you’re still experiencing this issue, can you please send along a video of what happens during the connection process (or screenshots from throughout the process)?

Thank you,
Jenny

@jennysowyrda will do. Where do I send it?

You can attach the screenshots and certain video formats by using the camera icon in the toolbar, or if you are able to upload the video to a cloud based location you can share the link here.

If neither of those work for you please let me know.

Thanks,
Jenny

Please help me stop hitting my computer, driving me nuts. I had managed to connect my google accoutn and since nothing sunced I created a new one with same email address, as suggested and now cannot manage to connect any account (tried removing and reinstalling integrations, tried incognito, differetn browsers) Thank you

Hey @Laquebecoise,

Can you please confirm the email address associated with the user/calendar you’re trying to connect so I can investigate this further for you?

Thank you,
Jenny

sorry, quit that job:)

I’m experiencing exactly the same issue. Disappointed to see this was not resolved. Google has granted Hubspot full access to email, calender etc. but the Meeting section in Hubspot thinks its not connected. If I try again it always says:

"Sorry. There was an issue connecting to your account.

Please try again or contact support."

Hi @cloud-traffic,

Can you share screenshots of where you are getting stuck?

Thanks,
Jenny

After granting access to Google Calendar

I then get an email from google saying that access has been given to HubSpot

“HubSpot now has access to your Google Account xxxxxxxx@gmail.com

I posted below the screenshot. Can you help?

Hi @cloud-traffic,

It looks like you’ve connected your inbox as a shared inbox, which prevents it from being connected to your calendar as well. For a full explanation regarding why this is, I wanted to share this thread.

Next steps will include either disconnecting the inbox from the conversations tool (as a shared inbox), or choosing a different email address to connect for your calendar.

Thanks,
Jenny
