HubSpot form pre-population is currently limited to cookied data from prior form submissions from a contact, even if the property value is known in your CRM from a non-cookied entry.
It would be nice to be able to pull CRM data for form pre-population, especially when it comes to company properties.

Hi @CKinder
I might be totally off here but the cookie part is the crucial bit that ties the browser/user to the contact in HubSpot.
So unless the cookie has been previously dropped and associated with a contact it won’t know who is browsing and therefore can’t pre-populate CRM data.

Hi @franksteiner79,
Thanks for the reply. Yes the tracking cookie is critical here, but from my understanding of pre-population function, HubSpot can only pull data that has previously been submitted through a form, not data associated to a contact in the CRM who has submitted a form prior if that property wasn’t on the form they submitted. (Happy to be corrected here).
For example: a user submits a form that contains First Name, Last Name, and Email Address. Throughout the conversation process we determine the user’s company, website, and city, and manually enter those into the CRM. If later, the same user views a form that has company, website, and city properties, HubSpot will not be able to pre-populate those as they were not fields on the prior cookied form.
So essentially we have both pieces of the puzzle we need (tracking cookie to associate the user & CRM data for prepopulation), but because the fields themselves weren’t present in the cookied form, those values can’t be prepopulated.
