In our business, there are two types of pricing models we quote for our deals. Option A might be $50k and Option B might be $100k.
By specifying the product types for each option, I’ve created two custom rollup fields to help with forecasting.
The field for Pricing Model 1 will pull in the amount for Option A and the field for Pricing Model #2 will pull in the amount for Option B.
HOWEVER, because I don’t believe there’s a way to pull information from quotes, I’m left to use the Deal’s Line Items to properly populate the custom fields.
Without doing a bunch of back and forth with creating quotes and then re-adding line items that got deleted, my method of creating the custom rollup fields is too cumbersome.
Does anyone have any recommendations?
Your rollup fields approach is about as good as it gets out of the box, but yeah, it’s manual and a bit clunky.
If you want less hassle, try keeping both pricing options as line items on the deal, then add a simple Active Option property. Use that to track which one is in play, and let your rollup fields only count the right one. Saves a lot of cleanup.
If you need real automation, you’ll have to use Zapier, Make, or a HubSpot partner to sync quote data. It’s a pain, honestly, and most people are just waiting for HubSpot to improve this.
So, you’re not missing anything obvious, and we’re all hacking it together the same way for now.
Hi @NMcMurray,
Tag line items with a custom property like “Pricing Model A” or “Pricing Model B,” then use rollup fields to total amounts based on those tags. That way, you don’t need to rebuild line items every time just update the tags.
If you have Ops Hub, a custom-coded workflow can help pull quote data or clean up line items automatically after a quote is created.
Another option is to create separate deals for each pricing model, linked to the same contact or parent deal.
